Skiing in Shiga Kogen (February 21 to March 2nd 2026)

Suggest we stay in Chalet Shiga https://chalet-shiga.com/en/  We recommend booking your own rooms in Chalet Shiga directly through the website. Just sign up as a ‘member’ on line and then book the room of your choice. This is cheaper than through other booking sites. 

 

The chalet is centrally located, very close to lifts and has western or Japanese room options. Some have ensuites, but others only have toilet and wash basins as there is a segregated onsen bath for after skiing. We recommend including the buffet breakfast and possibly the dinner package.  There are alternative restaurants but these may need to be booked in advance.  

February 20-23 is a long weekend for the emperor's birthday in Japan and is also the end of the Chinese New Year holiday, but rooms are still available at this point in time.

Suggest to check in either 21 , 22 or 23rd February and check out 2nd March for those going on to Hokkaido.

This is also a fantastic ski location and close to Iiyama Shinkansen Station. This could be an option for the week before Shiga Kogen.
